Ann Welsh and Adam Tait’s son John Tait married Jean Renwick. Jean was born circa 1779 in Leadhills, Crawford, in southern Scotland. Their children included
1. Ann Renwick - born during 1798 in Dumfriesshire; married James Renwick (born 1794) during December 1817 in Moffat; died on the 7th of January at 'Corehead Farm' (see the above map), Moffat
2. James - born on the 22nd of April, 1800 at 'Corehead Farm', Moffat and died on the 5th of April, 1882 in Earlshaugh, Tweedsmuir
3. Adam - born on the 11th of July, 1802 in Moffat, Dumfries; married Janet Thompson (1802 -?) on the 17th of May, 1828 in Moffat; died on the 26th of May, 1885
4. Sarah Renwick - born during 1807 in Dumfriesshire; married Walter Renwick on the 14th of April, 1827 in Douglas, Lanark; emigrated to Canada; died on the 16th of July, 1852 in Brantford, Ontario; Walter was born c.1798 and died on the 5th of June, 1874 possibly buried in St. George cemetery, Dumfries or Greenwood Cemetery, Brantford, Ontario
5. Agnes Renwick - born during 1809 in Moffat, Dumfries; married James Renwick (born 1808 in Selkirk) on the 4th of June, 1838 in Moffat; died on the 13th of September, 1899
6. Robert - born in April 1814 and died on the 1st of October, 1835
7. Margaret Little - born during 1815 in Moffat, Dumfries; married Henry Little (born c.1811) on the 7th of February, 1834 in 'Tweedshaws', south of Tweedsmuir, in the Scottish Borders; died in August 1849 in ‘Courhope’, north of Peebles in the Scottish Borders; buried in Eddleston Parish Churchyard, Eddleston, Peebleshire - our direct ancestors - more information in a separate post
8. Jean - born during 1817 and died on the 6th of May, 1886
9. George - born circa 1820; married Jane Lindsay (born c.1822); died on the 30th of April 1878 in Dumfriesshire, buried with his parents and grandparents at the Moffat Old Churchyard, Dumfries

Jean Renwick died on the 22nd of January, 1865, aged 87. John Tait died on the 7th of August, 1835, aged 68. They are buried with John’s parents at the Moffat Old Churchyard, Dumfries.
